question markWhat the heck does HIIT stand for? What kind of shoes are best for OULA? Why are pushups sooo hard for me?

    We’re taking questions!

It’s ask-an-instructor week on the blog as we gear up to launch a new fall schedule with cool classes, hot passes and your favorite teachers.

Ask us anything — it’s hard to make us blush, really — in the comments below and we will answer you within 24 hours. If we don’t know the answer ourselves, we’ll find it for you from a credible source.

By posting questions for all to see, we get to learn from each other, so don’t be shy.

Oh, and if you participate, we’ll enter you into a drawing for a little InMotion treat.

    Ready, set, go!

I must admit I do not know what HIIT stands for…could you tell me, please?

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. These worksouts consist of short bursts (30 seconds in our class) of high intensity exercise followed by brief rest periods (15 seconds). Push-ups, burpees, lunges and squats are the base moves for many of the exercises. The classes are short, ringing in at 30 minutes from warmup to cool down, for a big fitness benefit in a short amount of time.
