The nutritional choices you make after a workout are as important as your pre-sweat snack. A good post-workout meal replaces lost fluids and includes a balance of protiens, carbs and good fats to help your body repair and rebuild. In the interest of wellness, it’s also wise to choose foods with anti-inflammatory properties. Enter, Turmeric. You may have heard about this latest superfood, which is as fun to consume as it is to pronounce. The rust-colored spice is the main ingredient in curry, and on its own it is a powerful medicinal spice that gets credit for fighting inflammation, depression and digestive disorders. Anti-inflammatory foods, such as turmeric, can help with post-workout recovery by calming inflammation that can lead to soreness, injury and fatigue.
